MiME is a concept formed by Roz & Aidy of Lilyelf Miniatures and Helena of Solway Miniatures. We often work together to create one piece of artwork and we share a wide range of skills, incorporating some of the most popular aspects of the miniature world.

We are often approached at shows and asked for hints or tips on how to get started making a particular piece and we are always happy to help. Aidy and Helena have years of experience teaching workshops and in fact Aidy's day job is as an Art teacher. All three of us have been making miniatures for around 7 years now.

Aidy creates one of a kind characters and animals from scratch, using no moulds. He also paints and designs settings for the characters.

Roz costumes all of the Lilyelf characters, sculpts and flocks animals and makes miniatures wigs and hats.

Helena is known for her delicate cakes and deserts and also for her extensive cold porcelain skills which she uses to create flowers and plants.

One day over a coffee we decided we could offer a whole new level of workshops/demonstrations if we worked together to pool our skills and resources. Now people can come to a workshop and take away a finished piece of work that will have taught them many different techniques to take on to future projects. Not to mention having a wonderful finished piece to treasure and show off to family and friends!

We are also aiming to get other artists involved to bring new skills or alternative styles to the table. By working together to create a number of elements that can either stand alone or come together to make a complete piece, we offer you flexibility and a huge choice as to what can be made.

Workshops are friendly and informal and all skill levels are welcomed as each workshop will be tailored to your needs.
